MISSION STATEMENT

• To Empower Bihar Police with Information Technology and crime & criminal analysis to uphold law and protect people.


• To provide leadership and excellence in crime analysis with special emphasis on serious and organized crime.


• To strive to rise to the emerging challenges by adopting scientific methods and technology for excellence in policing.


• The SCRB would act as a clearing house of crime and criminal information by facilitating seamless data flow amongst the Police forces of the state. SCRB therefore, shall act as the nodal agency for furnishing analysis and information in connection with various returns to be sentto NCRB.

OBJECTIVES

• Collect statistical data of crimes, analyze them and prepare reviews, testaments, reports and ensure its regular and periodical (monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly) submission to DGP Bihar /Govt. of Bihar and NCRB.


• Collect various types of criminal's data as well as information, consolidate and send them to NCRB New Delhi for annual magazine 'Crime in India’. At State level, this Bureau also publishes a magazine 'Crime in Bihar’ annually after collection and consolidation of different types of criminal data and information.


• Give training to the Inspectors/SI/ASI and Constables of Police posted in districts and Rail police of Bihar in collection of data analysis.


• Coordinate, guide and assist the functioning of the DCRB at district level.


• Create and maintain secure sharable Databases on crimes and criminals for lawenforcement agencies and promote their use for public service delivery.


• Collect and process crime statistics at the state level and clearing house of information on crime and criminals at State level.


• Lead and coordinate development of IT applications and create an enabling IT environment for Police units, all across Bihar.
